| Community Amateur Sports Club -Development Opportunity |
|
As a local tax payer your sports club will probably be aware that Gravesham Borough Council dispensed with its direct support for local leisure organisations through discretionary rate relief at the beginning of the 2009/10 financial year. This could be costing your sports club hundreds, if not thousands, of pounds per year from now on.Help could be at hand, however, through registration for Community Amateur Sports Club[ CASC] Status. Sports clubs that meet the HMRC eligibility criteria are rewarded with a mandatory 80% relief on their business rates bill as well as other possible tax savings and the potential to claim Gift Aid on donations. Recent Government press releases highlight, however, that many sports clubs are missing out on this valuable development opportunity.Allied to this local records shows that few clubs have been successful in achieving CASC status. In these circumstances Sports Planning Associates {SPA} would like to assure you that help is at hand. SPA has on offer to prospective clients a free consultation meeting where we will outline how and where we can assist you in an application to the CASC scheme. Please contact either Neil Turnnidge [01474 351028 ] or Les Beven [01474 326486 ] on behalf of SPA’s project team for help and advice. Alternatively leave a message on SPA’s website at www.sportplanning.co.uk. Spa also provides other sports consultancy and development services should your sports club need them. We look forward to hearing from you. |
